How does that work?

Step 1: Upload or photograph

It's as simple as it sounds: Upload the file you want translated from your PC or smartphone to the relevant document page. And if you don't yet have the original document digitally, you can simply take a photo of it with your smartphone or tablet during the ordering process. Please ensure good lighting and sharp text.

Step 2: Select language

Select the source and target languages ​​for your document and specify the number of pages or photos you have uploaded. Please note: For double-sided documents, each page of text is counted individually. Complete your order using your preferred payment method.

Step 3: Have it officially translated

As soon as we receive your order, our certified translators will get to work. You'll receive the digital version of your certified translation – complete with signature and stamp – at your email address in just 3-4 days. We'll send the printed version of the translation at the same time, so it arrives in your mailbox as quickly as possible. And of course, there are no shipping costs.

    Creating a certified translation of an official document, complete with signature and stamp, requires only a few simple steps. You can complete these quickly on your laptop or – if you haven't yet saved your document digitally or as a scan – simply with your smartphone or another mobile device (e.g., tablet).

  • What is a certified translation?

    A certified translation is the complete translation of an official document, produced by a sworn translator and certified with a stamp and signature. In German it is called a "beglaubigte Übersetzung".

    You usually need one when you submit documents to authorities in another country: for university, a job, a marriage or a move.

  • What does a certified translation cost?

    At Beglaubigung24, prices start at €44.90 per document. What your translation costs depends on four things: the document type, the language pair, the number of pages and the delivery option. You choose these on the page for your document and then see your price in the cart.

  • How long does a certified translation take?

    You'll receive the PDF by email within 3 to 4 business days. If you also need the printed original, it arrives by post within 5 to 6 business days. You choose which option you want when you order.


    For six language pairs we offer a digital express option that delivers within 24 hours for an additional fee: German and English, German and Spanish, and German and Italian, each in both directions. It is available Monday to Friday. If you order at the weekend or on a public holiday, we deliver on the next business day.

  • Will my certified translation be accepted by the authorities?

    Yes. Within the EU, our translations are accepted by public authorities and offices. They are produced by court-sworn translators, signed and stamped.

    For countries outside the EU, or for certain documents, an apostille may also be required. The authority you submit to decides this. More in our guide: Getting an apostille translated

  • What does a certified translation look like?

    A certified translation contains the full text of your document, a certification statement, and the stamp and signature of the sworn translator. That allows the authority to see that the translation is complete and matches the original.

  • Who produces certified translations?

    Only sworn translators. They have passed a professional examination and are authorised by a court to translate and certify official documents. In Germany they are listed in the official registers of the judicial authorities.


    The German terms "vereidigt", "beeidigt" and "ermächtigt" all mean the same thing. You do not have to find a translator yourself: we automatically assign the right one to your document.

  • Official, certified and notarised translation: what is the difference?

    An official translation and a certified translation are the same thing. Both describe the translation of an official document whose accuracy a sworn translator confirms with a stamp and a signature.

    A notarised translation, on the other hand, does not exist as such. What people usually mean is a translation with a notarised signature. A notary certifies signatures and copies, but does not translate. If an authority asks you for a notarised translation, what you almost always need is an ordinary certified translation.

    It often comes up at short notice: you are moving abroad and need a certified translation of your birth certificate, a registry office abroad asks for a certified translation of your marriage certificate, or you need a certified translation of your school or university certificate for a job or a place at university.


    In these cases, authorities and courts usually do not accept a standard translation. They require certification by a sworn translator.
