  • Hello, world!

Certified translation of the passport and national passport.
Your passport is generally valid internationally. In theory. However, things can get complicated if you're staying for an extended period in a country that doesn't use the Latin alphabet and where English isn't widely spoken. A certified translation of your passport can be helpful if you need to communicate with local authorities or the police, for example. With a professional translation, you're always on the safe side!

Ordering is simple: our shop is open 24/7. Upload your document, and we'll send the certified translation to your inbox within 3–4 business days (24 hours with express). Shortly after, the original arrives at your door by priority post or registered mail.

Here's how to get your certified translation quickly and easily:

Step 1: Upload your passport and select your language

Upload your passport at the top of this page – ideally as a high-resolution PDF, JPG, or PNG file. If you don't yet have your passport in one of these formats, we recommend uploading a photo using your smartphone: open this page on your phone, take a (clear) photo of the original during the ordering process, and upload it. Then select the source language and the desired language for the translation.

Step 2: Add order to shopping cart or complete via quick checkout.

To submit your order directly, you can now select the quick checkout option. Alternatively, you can add your order to the shopping cart and – if necessary – add further documents and certificates from our shop that you wish to have translated. Once all your orders are in the shopping cart, select your payment method (e.g., PayPal or credit card), enter your contact details, and submit everything.

Step 3: Have a certified translation prepared

Now our certified translators come into play. They will create a beautifully formatted and professional translation of your passport and certify it. We will then send you the translation in two versions: You will receive the PDF document by email within a very short time, and the hard copy will arrive in your mailbox at home just a few days later.

And if you're satisfied, please leave us a positive review.

Frequently asked questions about passport translations

Why do I need a certified translation for my passport?

A passport is an official photo ID and therefore an official document. Consequently, authorities, offices, or the police abroad may request a certified translation. Such a translation confirms the accuracy of the content and is generally accepted abroad. The specific requirements depend on the regulations of the respective recipient country.

Where can I get my passport translated?

You can obtain a certified or official translation of your passport from a specialized translation agency like Beglaubigung24. Here, sworn translators translate the original document and confirm the translated content with a stamp and signature. With such a translation, your passport is generally recognized internationally by authorities, offices, and courts.

How much does a certified translation of a passport cost?

You can have your passport translated at Beglaubigung24 starting from €48.90. This price includes the translation service by our sworn translators, the certification of the translation, and shipping costs. Our translators are state-certified and authorized to translate and certify documents.

Into which languages can I have my passport translated?

At Beglaubigung24, you can order certified translations in 19 language combinations. One of the two languages (source or target) must be German.

Our language combinations:
German – English | English – German | French – German | Spanish – German | Russian – German | Italian – German | Polish – German | Portuguese – German | Turkish – German | German – French | German – Spanish | Greek – German | Dutch – German | Ukrainian – German | Bosnian – German | Serbian – German | Croatian – German | Arabic – German | Bulgarian – German

Who translates and certifies a passport?

Your passport should only be translated by sworn translators. These so-called authorized translators are state-certified, sworn in before a state authority, a regional court, or a higher regional court, and are therefore authorized to translate documents into other languages with certification.

How do I count the pages?

One page = one side of a sheet of paper (regardless of word count). Front and back count as separate pages. Count all relevant pages of your original document. The total is the sum of all individual pages.

Is my data kept confidential?

Yes, very much so! In fact, we're quite nerdy about that. We're certified for translation services (ISO 17100), quality management (ISO 9001), and information security (ISO/IEC 27001). Your data stays protected from upload to delivery.

Or need more information about certified translations?

  • Yes. At least most of the time.

The question is valid. A passport is a document specifically designed to be internationally valid and recognized. Like a national identity card and a driver's license, it's an official photo ID. Unlike the (German) national identity card, however, it also allows you to travel outside the EU. So why would it need to be translated? In short: there are countries where your native language or the official languages listed in your passport are not widely spoken. However, in certain situations, you still need to present your identification documents. This might be the case, for example, if you plan to stay abroad for an extended period or if you need to appear before the police (e.g., as a witness to a theft).

If a certified translation of your passport is required, you will normally be asked to provide one. To be on the safe side, we generally recommend that you check with the recipients whether a certified translation of the identification document is necessary or not.

  • Feeling at home elsewhere – translation for stays abroad

You don't just need your passport to travel the world. It's also essential if your trip takes you to a new country for an extended period. Depending on how long and where you plan to stay, you'll most likely need to prove your identity sooner or later. In many countries, your passport should suffice. However, in some countries, the language of your passport might not be understood, in which case you'll need a certified translation. You can order such a certified translation quickly, easily, and online from us. Then you can begin your stay abroad without any worries.

  • When the police knock – translation for foreign authorities

Even outside your home country, you might witness a crime or come into contact with the police in some other way. You might be required to give a statement or assist in the investigation. In any case, you will need to prove your identity. And if your original identification documents are not understood or accepted, a certified translation is usually the only solution. You can obtain this from a professional translation service like us. Our sworn translators will provide you with a certified translation of your passport that is recognized by foreign police. This also applies to other foreign offices and authorities.

  • Just in case – we provide you with triple protection.

If you need a certified translation of your passport or ID card, we're happy to help – whether for a court, the police, or another authority. We ensure that the translation of your most important documents runs smoothly and that the content is accurately rendered in the target language. We are triple ISO certified: for our translation services (ISO 17100:2015), our quality management (ISO 9001:2015), and our information security (ISO/IEC 27001:2013).
