Requirements for your document

To enable us to create your certified translation, please observe the following quality standards:

Complete pages

All pages including margins must be fully visible. Particularly important: court seals, signatures and file numbers.

High scan quality

Sharp, easily legible scan without shadows or distortions. At least 300 DPI is recommended.

Seals visible

Court seals, stamps and signatures must be clearly visible. They are essential for certification.

Accepted formats

PDF (preferred), JPG, PNG. Maximum file size: 10 MB per document.

Colour scans

Colour scans help identify seals and stamps. Black and white is possible if contrast is good.

Including annexes

All annexes to the order must be translated. Authorities require the complete document.

Frequently asked questions

Are court seals and stamps also translated?

Court seals and official stamps are described and documented in the certified translation, but not reproduced graphically. The sworn translator confirms in the certification that the original bears these seals. This complies with international standards and is accepted by all authorities.

Do annexes to the court order also need to be translated?

Yes, for legal completeness all annexes that form part of the order should also be translated. Authorities and courts generally expect the complete document. If you are unsure which annexes are relevant, feel free to contact us before placing your order – we will be happy to advise you.

How are blank pages in the document charged?

Blank pages that belong to the official court document (e.g. backs of double-sided prints) are documented but not billed in full. We only charge for pages that actually contain text. After upload you will see the exact page count and the final price transparently in your cart.

Do I need an apostille on the judgment?

That depends on the destination country. For countries within the EU, the certified translation is usually sufficient. For many countries outside the EU (e.g. USA, China, India, Arab states), an additional apostille is required. The apostille is attached to the German original document, not to the translation. We are happy to help you obtain it.

How quickly will I receive the certified translation?

With the standard service, you receive your translation within 3–4 working days. The digital version (PDF with stamp and seal) will be sent to you by email and is immediately usable. The original follows by free postal dispatch. For urgent cases we offer an express service within 24–48 hours (availability depending on the language combination).

Is the translation recognised internationally?

Yes, our certified translations by sworn translators are recognised worldwide. They are legally valid with all German courts and authorities. For international recognition, an additional apostille may be required depending on the destination country. We guarantee 100% acceptance – should any issues arise, we will support you free of charge.

What is the difference between a court order and a judgment?

A judgment is a decision issued after an oral hearing in contentious proceedings. A court order is often issued without an oral hearing (e.g. in family cases, probate proceedings or procedural decisions). Both require a certified translation for international use. We translate both types of documents professionally.
